Kicking off Alpha Procurement
With a few detours into Latin, love procurement tattoos, Procurement - the board game and adopt-a-commissioner, Mondays meeting gave us the opportunity to discuss what was achievable and impactful.
On Monday, the cluster of companies and academics working on Alpha Procurement met for our 'Kick off' meeting. As the first Lancaster CX project to reach the start line, we trod new ground and endeavoured to make the kickoff meeting an open conversational space, within which we could firm up the details we needed to draw up the scope of work.
We met in MadLab (Manchester), travelling from Scotland, Lancaster, Cumbria and within Manchester, it's fair to say it was a wee bit nippy in the room, but hot drinks and Grasmere Gingerbread sustained us! (Thanks Jeremy )
Having talked through our own motivations for being part of the project, reflected on the problems and experiences of public sector procurement from a SME point of view, we dipped into the positives of procurement, the unsung success of 'happy procurement'. These untold stories of 'good' procurement may hold the secret to designing in incremental improvements to the system as a whole.
With a few detours into Latin, love procurement tattoos, Procurement the board game and adopt a commissioner, Mondays meeting gave us the opportunity to discuss what was achievable and impactful.
We collectively outlined what background knowledge the PhDs needed to collate to enable our companies time to be best utilised. We neatly sidestepped the inevitable email overload issue by deciding on basecamp and have arrived at a duel pincer approach that despite being around a topic not normally considered 'creative' , we believe will be interesting, topical, engaging and effective.
