Gareth J. Harvey
Gareth J. Harvey is a lecturer in Marketing and Consumer Psychology at Glyndŵr University, North Wales and the scientific advisor for Shopping Behaviour Xplained (SBXL). After completing both an undergraduate and masters degree in business, Gareth decided that the traditional paradigms used to explain consumer behavior failed to consider the psychology that drives consumer behavior. In order to find some answers Gareth decided undertake a PhD in Consumer Psychology.
He now specializes in studying the impact of environmental cues in both a retail and context. This involves quantifying how changes to our environment, (e.g. lighting, music, aromas etc.) influences the way consumers shop. Over the last couple of years Gareth has undertaken a number of bespoke research projects for a range of large businesses including: National Grid, BBC, Pixel, Kraft and United Biscuits.
